At the height of his fame, in January 1818 Canova guaranteed the lease contract for his “sculpting studio”, in an area of the city traditionally animated by the boutiques of artists, in favour of his promising pupil, Adamo Tadolini. Over time, the atelier has subsequently kept the spirit of its rooms unaltered, where preparatory models, exercises, sculptures and tools of the trade flowed, giving life to a random juxtaposition of the works. Not following a system of cataloguing constitutes the basis for the testimonies of the Art of Canova and the Tadolini family, almost two centuries of sculpting.
